YOUR HOSTS
GRAYLIN PORTER
Born and raised in Corydon, Graylin briefly relocated for a period of time, living in North Carolina, Norway, Scotland, and Texas before returning home for good in 2011.
Prior to launching the podcast in 2021, Graylin held various positions, teaching yoga in Corydon and serving as a librarian at Georgetown Elementary. Her interest in local politics and civic engagement blossomed over the past four years, notably through her candidacy for local office.
As an avid podcast listener, Graylin found joy in co-hosting her own show with Elmer Ramos. The Blue Dot has become a fun passion project for her. Beyond the show, Graylin homeschools her children, reads as much as she can, and loves to talk about grocery shopping.
ELMER RAMOS
After living in Savannah, Georgia for a decade Elmer, a Puertorican-born and Jersey-raised, was ready for a change of scenery. Upon visiting Corydon a few times with his wife who is a Corydon native, Elmer fell in love with Corydon's wide-open landscapes and the possibilities of living in a more relaxed environment, so at the end of 2017 he made himself at home in this small town.
Before he became your friendly neighborhood podcaster, Elmer was on a mission to become more involved in this community. He joined the Indian Creek Trail Board, and in 2018, he dipped his toes into local politics as a graphic designer for the Harrison County Democratic Party.
But it wasn't until 2020, during the chaos of the pandemic shutdown, that Elmer really started soul-searching. With the national political scene spinning out of control, he felt a calling to use his design abilities to discuss topics of social justice, politics and community building.
After meeting Graylin Porter who shared similar goals, he embarked on the journey of podcasting. Today you may find Elmer at a playground with his daughter, taking walks on the trail with his family and making some art on his spare time.
